My computer and iPhone are on the same network, but no transfer.
You might be on a guest network at a friend’s house or at an internet cafe. Sometimes these networks are configured so that devices cannot “see” each other via Bonjour networking.
To work around this limitation and perform a transfer:
- Launch Snagbee and capture your screen shots as you normally would while your computer is connected to the guest or public network.
- When you’re ready to transfer, you’ll need to create a Computer-to-Computer network so that your Mac and iPhone can talk to each other directly.
- Go to the Airport menu in the menu bar (upper right of corner of your screen) and choose Create Network. Alternatively launch System Preferences, click on Network, then choose Create Network in the Network Name list.
- Click OK to create a Computer-to-Computer network. Take note of the network name in this window. This is the network that your iPhone needs to connect to in the next step.
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, then choose the name of your network that you created in step 4. If you specified a password when creating this network, then be sure to enter it.
- Your computer will be disconnected from the internet while your private network is active. You may now Tap to Transfer using Snagbee mobile.
- When you’re done, go back to the Airport menu and choose the public network that you were connected to originally. You may also do the same on your iPhone through Settings > Wi-Fi.
